Less than Container Load Ocean Freight Charges
We bill rates based on cubic feet and density. The cubic feet and density of a shipment are calculated with the following equations:
Cubic Feet = (length in inches) x (width in inches) x (height in inches) ÷ 1728
Density = Weight ÷ Cubic Feet
If your shipment is more than 45 lbs per cubic foot, a density factor is applied to rating charges. This means you will be billed for every multiple of 45 lbs rather than per cubic foot.
For example: if the shipment weighs 3,000 lbs and is 50 cubic feet, the density is 60 (3,000 ÷ 50). We then take the weight of 3,000 ÷ 45 which equals 66.7, and this becomes your billing factor. In this case, charges would be based on 67 units rather than 50 units.
Full Container Load Ocean Freight Charges
Ocean charges on Full Container Load Shipments are calculated on a per shipment, customer, or project basis. We can arrange door-to-door delivery of shipper-loaded containers anywhere in the U.S., or we can receive your freight at our Terminal and load it into your dedicated container.
There are additional charges associated with moving hazardous shipments.
Pickup charges are rated on a per shipment basis. We utilize different trucking companies across the U.S. to ensure the best service, fastest transit, and most competitive pricing. Pickup charges are rated differently from ocean freight charges. Trucking charges are based predominately on weight, commodity, and distance.
Because we’re under the same ownership as Royal Hawaiian Movers and DeWitt Transportation Services of Guam, we’re able to offer much more competitive pricing and coverage, than other freight companies. Hawaii delivery charges are calculated based on zones, zip code, and size. Guam delivery charges are the same across the island.
Will call service is available at each of our terminals, allowing you to pick up your freight from our warehouse. The charges for this service cover trucking from the destination port, unloading the freight, and pulling the shipment for pickup.
We offer container spotting for a reduced price if your facility is capable of receiving and offloading shipping containers. This is a flat rate and includes our driver dropping the container and your facility and picking up when you are finished offloading.
We also offer Military Delivery, White Glove Service, and Inside Delivery for additional fees.
Fuel surcharges are applied to the ocean freight charges and adjust to match the shipping line’s current fuel rates.
We offer airfreight service through our partners and can quote you on a per shipment basis.
